Reserve Bank of India (RBI)
Reserve Bank of India was established on April 1, 1935 in accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. The Central Office of the Reserve Bank was initially established in Calcutta but was permanently moved to Mumbai in 1937. The Central Office is where the Governor sits and where policies are formulated.
Though originally privately owned, since nationalization in 1949, the Reserve Bank is fully owned by the Government of India. The RBI conducts various exams for recruitment of their employees. The recruitment exams are conducted by Reserve Bank of India Service Board. The RBI exam is conducted for recruiting employees for the post of RBI Grade ‘B’ Officers & RBI Assistant.

RBI Grade 'B' Officer's

Eligibility Criteria for RBI Grade 'B' Officer's Examination
1.The candidates applying should be between the age of 21 years and 30 years.
2.The upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for     OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for PWD- Un-reserved (UR), 13 years for PWD-OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 15 years for PWD-SC/ST. Reservation and age relaxation is applicable for reservation candidates as per Government rules and regulations.
3.The candidates who have a M. Phil. degree the upper age limit is 31 years and for candidates who have a Ph.D. degree the upper age limit is 33 years.
4.The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks or an equivalent grade or the candidates must have a Master’s degree with minimum of 55% marks or a Doctorate degree with 50% marks in Master’s degree or equivalent degree.

2. Phase-II Written Examination (Descriptive Type): The Phase-II Written Examination (WE) will be conducted in September/ October 2014 (tentative) only for those candidates who are shortlisted for the same.
Note: The date and time-table will be intimated to the candidates concerned at the appropriate time.

Note –
1.Those candidates who have cleared the Phase I paper are eligible to sit for the Phase II Paper.
2.Candidates have to qualify in each of the papers separately; based on the marks obtained in Phase II candidates will be shortlisted for interview.
3.Phase I (except the test of English) and Papers II and III of Phase II will be set bilingually in Hindi and English. Phase I is Objective Type and only marking the correct choice is required. However, Papers II and III of Phase II can be answered either wholly in Hindi or English at the candidate's option.

How to Apply for RBI Grade 'B' Officer's Examination:
1.The candidates wishing to appear for RBI Exam Grade A/B Officers can apply for the post either on the prescribed Application (OFF-LINE) or submit the application ON-LINE followed up by sending a printout (hardcopy) of the online application to the Board's office.
2.The format of the offline application forms can be downloaded from the official website –www.onlinedr.rbi.org.in
3.The duly filled in application form along with a demand draft of Rs. 100/- for each post should be sent to ‘The General Manager, The Reserve Bank of India Services Board, Post Bag No. 14501, Mumbai Central Post Office, Mumbai – 400008.
4.The online application form is available on the official website – http://onlinedr.rbi.org.in
5.Before starting filling up of ON-LINE application, a candidate must purchase the DD or IPO for Rs. 100/- (except SC/ST/PWD candidates who are exempted from payment of fees).
6.After submitting the application online, the candidate is required to take a print out of the application form and paste a signed photograph in the space provided and send it to the Reserve Bank of India Services Board’s Office along with a DD or IPO of Rs. 100/-.
7.Candidates should apply only through the online or offline mode. Duplicate applications will be rejected.

RBI Assistant
Eligibility Criteria:
  • Candidates have Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a minimum of 50% marks (pass class for SC/ST/PWD candidates) in the aggregate and the knowledge of word processing on PC.
  • Candidate belonging to Ex-servicemen category should either be a graduate from a recognized University or should have passed the matriculation or its equivalent examination of the Armed Forces and rendered at least 15 years of defence service.
  • Candidates applying for post in a particular state should be proficient in the language of the state i.e. know to read, write, speak and understand the language.
  • Knowledge of Computer skills.
  • Age Limit: Candidates age should be between 18 and 28 years .
